HoriziQ is an online exam preparation platform owned and operated by Horiziq Corp, a firm registered under the laws of India, with its principal place of business at Horiziq Corp, No 6 Tubewell Lane, Shankerpur Hakumarpur, Dist. Dehradun, Uttarakhand – 248197 (“HoriziQ”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including registered learners, visitors, and any individual whose personal data is processed in connection with the Platform’s services.

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Platform:

a. Information you provide directly

• Full name, email address, and mobile number, at registration;
• Profile photograph (if uploaded voluntarily);
• Payment information (processed securely through third-party payment gateways; we do not store card details); and
• Communications submitted via support requests, feedback forms, or doubt queries.

b. Information collected via Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in to HoriziQ using your Google account, we receive limited information from Google, including:

• Your email address;
• Your name; and
• Other basic public profile information made available through the Google Sign-In authorization process (such as your profile picture).

We only request and use Google account information that is necessary to create and maintain your HoriziQ account and to operate our services. HoriziQ does not request, receive, or store your Google account password.

c. Information collected automatically

• Device information, including device type, operating system, browser type, and unique device identifiers;
• IP address, approximate geographic location, and network information;
• Usage data including pages visited, features accessed, time spent, test attempts, and click patterns;
• Performance data including mock test scores, accuracy rates, question-level responses, and session activity; and
• Log data and error reports generated during Platform use.

HoriziQ uses Google’s authentication services to allow users to securely sign in to, or register for, an account on the Platform.

When you select “Sign in with Google,” Google authenticates your identity and provides HoriziQ with the information you authorize Google to share, as described in Section 2(b) above. The email address and name received through Google Sign-In are stored in HoriziQ’s database and associated with your HoriziQ account.

HoriziQ does not receive or store your Google account password.

Your Google account information is used only for account authentication and identification, operating and maintaining your HoriziQ account, internal reporting, and internal auditing and security purposes. It is not used for any purpose unrelated to the operation and administration of HoriziQ, and is not sold, rented, licensed, or otherwise commercially distributed.

Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google’s own applicable terms of service and privacy practices. Disconnecting HoriziQ from your Google account does not automatically delete information already stored by HoriziQ; to request deletion of that information, please contact us using the details in Section 17.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We will not use your personal information, including information obtained through Google Sign-In, for any purpose incompatible with those stated above without your prior consent.

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011:

• Consent — where you have expressly agreed to our collection and use of your data, including at registration, when you sign in with Google, and for marketing communications;
• Contractual necessity — to fulfil our obligations under your subscription agreement and deliver the services you have requested;
• Legitimate interests — to operate, improve, and secure the Platform, prevent fraud, and conduct internal analytics; and
• Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or directives from government authorities.

HoriziQ does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, including information obtained through Google Sign-In, to any third party. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating the Platform (e.g., cloud hosting, payment gateways, email delivery, analytics tools), under strict contractual data protection obligations;
• Legal compliance — when required to do so by applicable law, court order, or a request from a competent government or regulatory authority;
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, provided the receiving entity agrees to honour this Privacy Policy; and
• Protection of rights — where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of HoriziQ, its users, or the public.

We will never share your personal information, including Google Sign-In data, with advertisers, third-party marketers, or data brokers for commercial purposes without your explicit consent.

The Platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixel tags and local storage) to enhance your experience, remember your preferences, and collect analytics data. The types of cookies we use include:

• Essential cookies — necessary for the Platform to function correctly (e.g., session management, login persistence);
• Analytics cookies — help us understand how users interact with the Platform (e.g., pages visited, time spent, errors encountered); and
• Preference cookies — remember your settings and personalisation choices.

When you first visit the Platform, a cookie consent banner will ask for your explicit consent before any non-essential cookies (analytics and preference cookies) are placed on your device. Essential cookies are placed automatically as they are strictly necessary for the Platform to function.

You may withdraw or change your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie settings panel available on the Platform, or by adjusting your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.

We retain your personal information, including your name, email address, and information obtained through Google Sign-In, for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide you with the Platform’s services and for legitimate internal reporting, auditing, security, and record-keeping purposes. Upon account deletion or discontinuation of services, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where:

• Retention is required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or regulatory requirement;
• The data is necessary to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements; or
• Retention is required for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

HoriziQ implements reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS), access controls, secure server infrastructure, and periodic security reviews.

HoriziQ does not request, receive, or store your Google account password under any circumstances; authentication is handled entirely by Google.

While we take data security seriously, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your Google account credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

As a user of the Platform, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data — including data obtained through Google Sign-In — under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

• Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data, including your account and any information obtained via Google Sign-In, subject to applicable legal obligations;
• Right to nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your data rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, in accordance with Section 14 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023;
• Right to withdraw consent — withdraw your consent to processing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal;
• Right to opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails or by contacting us; and
• Right to grievance redressal — raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Section 14) or approach the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

To exercise any of the above rights, or to request deletion of your account and associated personal information (including information obtained through Google Sign-In), please submit a written request to help[@]horiziq.com or grievance[@]horiziq.com, preferably including the email address associated with your HoriziQ account. We will:

• Acknowledge all rights requests within 24 hours of receipt; and
• Respond substantively to valid requests within 30 days of receipt.

Please note that disconnecting HoriziQ from your Google account alone does not delete information already stored by HoriziQ; a separate deletion request as described above is required.

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. By accessing or registering on the Platform, including via Google Sign-In, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to access or use the Platform in any manner.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. Since we do not currently employ automated age verification, we rely on users to provide accurate information at the time of registration. Where we become aware that a registered user is under 18, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate such account without prior notice, and such termination shall not give rise to any liability or refund obligation.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under the age of 18 has registered on the Platform or provided personal information (including via Google Sign-In) without your consent, please contact us immediately at grievance[@]horiziq.com. We will take prompt steps to verify the concern and delete such information without delay.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, payment gateways, or integrated services, and uses Google Sign-In to authenticate users. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party platform or service, including Google’s own services, which are governed by Google’s respective terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the Platform. HoriziQ is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party service.

Certain technical service providers may process or store information, including information obtained via Google Sign-In, only as necessary to operate our infrastructure and services (e.g., hosting, security, and maintenance), and are expected to protect such information appropriately. HoriziQ does not share Google user data with external organisations for their own independent use.

HoriziQ primarily stores and processes your data on servers located within India. Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (operated by Google LLC, USA) to analyse site visitor behaviour, and Google Sign-In (also operated by Google LLC) to authenticate users. While Google Analytics automatically anonymises IP addresses, it may collect pseudonymous identifiers such as cookie IDs, device information, and browsing behaviour data.

Once data is collected from our website through these Google services, it is processed by Google LLC on its own servers, which may be located outside India, including in the United States. HoriziQ does not control the specific jurisdictions in which Google processes this data. Google LLC operates under its own Data Processing Terms, and as of the date of this Privacy Policy, the United States is not a restricted jurisdiction under Section 16 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

We will comply with all applicable data localisation requirements as notified by the Central Government of India from time to time. If any country is subsequently notified as a restricted jurisdiction under the DPDP Act 2023, we will review and update our data transfer arrangements accordingly.

By using our website and accepting this Privacy Policy — including by signing in with Google — you consent to such transfers. You may withdraw consent at any time by disabling cookies through your browser settings or cookie consent panel, disconnecting Google Sign-In, or by contacting us at help[@]horiziq.com. Please note that withdrawal will prevent future data collection but will not affect data already processed by Google.

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, HoriziQ has designated a Grievance Officer to address any concerns or complaints regarding the processing of your personal data.

Grievances will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 30 days of receipt. For general privacy queries (not formal grievances), we aim to respond within 3–5 business days.

HoriziQ reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time, including to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices such as the addition of Google Sign-In. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where changes are material — including changes to the categories of data collected, new data-sharing arrangements, or changes to user rights — we will notify registered users via email or an in-Platform notification at least 7 days prior to the changes taking effect.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Privacy Policy shall be referred to a Sole Arbitrator and resolved under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in English or Hindi, with the seat of arbitration in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. In the absence of mutual agreement on language, proceedings shall be conducted in English. The Arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding.

This Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.

Your right to approach the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 remains unaffected by this clause.
